Cost Analyst

Global leader in industrial decarbonization technology

Home · Open Roles · Cost Analyst

A Cost Analyst to provide detailed cost analysis on large-scale industrial plant projects that vary in type, size, complexity, and risk. You'll own project budgets in the ERP and drive the detailed analysis of cost expenditures vs. established budgets across the full life of multiple projects at once — interfacing with schedulers, project managers, engineers, estimators, and accounting.

What you’ll own

  • Develop and maintain work-package cost-control budgets within the ERP from estimate through change management
  • Prepare month-end reports, ETC/EAC forecasts, variance reports, spend projections, and cost reconciliations
  • Interface across Operations, Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Accounting, and Sales to complete monthly accrued costs, cash flow, commitments, and burn rates
  • Develop accurate labor, equipment, and expense cost forecasts with guidance from department leads, PMs, PEs, and the Project Controls Manager
  • Report cost trends — CPIs, SPIs, risk, earned value, and cash-flow forecasts — with visual charts for monthly reporting
  • Develop and facilitate the project invoicing process per contractual terms and conditions
  • Advise PMs on project-specific cash-flow performance and prepare/maintain project risk registers
  • Support the Estimator and Scheduler from project inception through closeout

What we’re looking for

  • 3+ years hands-on experience as a Cost Analyst, preferably in large-scale industrial engineering and construction
  • Bachelor's in Data Science, Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Business, Accounting, or Computer Science
  • Strong MS Excel skills (XLOOKUP, SUMIF, Pivot Tables) and MS Office proficiency
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and obtaining actual project cost data; SAP or other ERP experience
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize deliverables
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written skills; able to interface across all levels of project teams and senior management
  • PMP, CCP, and/or CEP certification desired; willingness to travel domestically/internationally (<5%)
Competitive · commensurate with experience + benefits (Day-1 benefits, 401(k) match, profit sharing, 4 weeks PTO)
