Lead Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement at a high-volume electrical products plant in Concord, NC (Charlotte metro). Reporting to the Continuous Improvement Manager, this project manager uses plant data to pick the right targets, runs Kaizen events, builds out the visual factory and standard work, and owns new product launches end to end, while training and mentoring the plant's next supervisors. Travel two to three times a year.
What you’ll own
Analyze plant data to find improvement opportunities and aim Lean events at department and plant goals
Lead and facilitate Kaizen events
Improve safety, quality, productivity, capacity, and flexibility across every manufacturing department
Build out the visual factory: management dashboards and visual indicators for standard work
Develop detailed cost estimates for new and modified products
Establish and maintain manufacturing data: labor standards, routings, standard work instructions, and bill of materials (BOM) corrections
Manage new product launches (NPI) for the plant, including schedules, spend, and reporting
Train employees on Lean tools and processes, and build a strong continuous improvement culture
Manage and mentor the plant's supervisor-in-training program, and help develop and mentor operations leadership development participants
What we’re looking for
Bachelor's degree; technical field or systems engineering preferred
3+ years supporting Lean / continuous improvement in a complex manufacturing environment
Hands-on experience facilitating Lean / CI events
Strong analytical skills: spot trends and put proactive corrective actions in place
Clear written and verbal communicator at every level of the organization, with solid leadership qualities
Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
Basic AutoCAD or equivalent CAD skills
Organized, detail-oriented self-starter who can run multiple projects at once and prioritize
