The go-to technical resource on a 12-hour day rotation (7:30 AM – 7:45 PM, 4 on / 4 off). This seat owns the technical side of the line — setups and changeovers, equipment troubleshooting, SPC and quality checks, and operator training — with no direct reports. Best fit for someone with manufacturing floor experience who wants to be the person the shift calls when something drifts.
What you’ll own
Lead product changeovers and equipment setup; verify safety equipment works, per good manufacturing practice and standard operating procedures
Troubleshoot equipment, device, and product problems; monitor and adjust processes for quality and throughput
Inspect production against customer specifications; monitor SPC charts and take measurements with precision instruments
Keep operators supplied with raw materials and job materials; verify ticket data entry
Report production, progress, and changeovers to shift supervisors; write maintenance work orders in the CMMS and update the end-of-shift log
Train operators, and run production equipment when needed
Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance, efficiency, and safety; support engineers building and testing prototypes, processes, and procedures
Take part in preventive maintenance, operator-led maintenance, 5S, and Kaizen activities; follow environmental management (EMS) procedures
Escalate safety issues to the supervisor or area manager, and enforce safety rules on the line
What we’re looking for
High school diploma or GED
6+ months of manufacturing or warehouse experience, or equivalent
NC Career Readiness Certificate (CRC), Bronze level or above
Able to read safety, operating, emergency, and maintenance procedures, and to write clear reports
Shop math: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
Practical problem-solver who works from written, verbal, diagram, and schedule instructions
Must complete all required job training
Physical: regular standing and walking; lift up to 50 lb; occasionally move 400–500 lb loads by pallet jack; pass vision, hearing, respirator-fit, and spirometry testing
Environment: heat, humidity, airborne particles, chemicals, moving machinery, and moderate-to-loud noise; safety shoes plus hearing, head, and eye protection in designated areas
Preferred: forklift and pallet jack licenses
Preferred: Certified Production Technician (CPT) credential
Preferred: working knowledge of database, inventory, manufacturing, and spreadsheet software
