An independent, multi-concept restaurant group in an active national expansion phase is building the financial infrastructure to match the standards inside its restaurants. This is an execution role — for someone who takes deep pride in running a clean, tight, fully documented financial operation and knows that in a multi-concept group, the details are everything. The Controller title is yours to earn.

What you’ll own

  • Own full-cycle accounting and monthly close across all entities, in coordination with the VP of Finance
  • Prepare financial statement information and ensure accuracy for VP hand-off
  • Manage sales tax, payroll tax, and income tax compliance and filing coordination
  • Maintain lease abstracts — critical dates, percentage-rent thresholds, option windows, insurance requirements
  • Oversee vendor contracts, certificates of insurance, and key document management
  • Run cash management and bank reconciliations; oversee outsourced accounts payable and approval workflows
  • Coordinate payroll processing with HR and third-party payroll partners
  • Support audit preparation and pre-opening cost tracking for new-unit development (NRO)
  • Own the Restaurant365 (R365) system — chart of accounts, entity setup, and reporting integrity

What we’re looking for

  • 3–5+ years of accounting experience, with meaningful time inside a restaurant, hospitality, or multi-unit food & beverage environment (non-negotiable)
  • Multi-entity / multi-concept experience strongly preferred; upscale or full-service background a significant advantage
  • Restaurant365 (R365) proficiency strongly preferred; familiarity with Toast POS a plus
  • Experience managing outsourced partners and coordinating internal stakeholders
  • Strong grasp of sales tax, payroll tax, and multi-state compliance; lease and critical-date management
  • Exceptional organization and detail orientation — you manage deadlines, not just tasks
  • Clean, clear written communication; able to summarize financial information simply
  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred but not required
From $85,000 + performance bonus · commensurate with experience
